The ability to creatively imitate an individual's work without falling victim to plagiarism is as difficult as it sounds. This should however not be a source of discomfort as it entails acknowledging the efforts of the more experienced writer. Creative writing assumes the form of plagiarism when it is similar to an already existing piece of work furthemore it does not match the context within which it is written. In such a scenario, imagination strangles the concept of originality and creativity. It is therefore necessary for writers especially those that assume an academic dimension to differntiate between creative imitation and plagiarism
