Abstract Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) is a psychotherapy that basically focuses on how individuals think about themselves and the activities that affect these thoughts and feelings. Therefore, CBT can actually change our cognition and behaviour. In Summary the paper describes the concept of CBT and the application of CBT on clients or groups. The paper briefly describes an analysis of three major perspectives or theories on carrying out CBT on clients: cognitive restructuring, cognitive coping therapy and problem solving therapy. The theories discussed examine the application of CBT in clients; contemplators and those in their advanced stages maladaptive behaviours. The paper concludes that all the mentioned approaches CBT can be applied client or groups at all stages.
