The desire for better grades and completion of an academic program should not be the driving force behind the quest for relevant, free flowing and beautiful pieces of writing. It is the search for better means of communication characterized by effective delivery of information to teachers that really matters, after all, who cannot write? It is appropriate to appreciate that the ability to write academic papers which are stylistic as evident in their appreciation of the rules of English and any other language for that matter is dependent on the ability of a writer to engage his/her mind in totality to the task at hand. It therefore beats logic to hurry through a paper just to receive any grade. People have different abilities, Rooney scores goals, Bolt speeds, Obama talks and I write. It is therefore futile to write just because one is a student.
