Nursing science has continued to develop the debate about the adequacy of the philosophic paradigms. Nurses have come to embrace various paradigms, methodologies, approaches and their philosophical assumptions. Initially this was the focus of the clinical inquiry in nursing; it has come to be recognized as the basis of nursing practice. On the other hand, praxis of the framework has also developed to include the interpretation of the critical methodologies to clinical inquiry in nursing practice. The fundamental goals of praxis are to inform then nursing practice. However, though there are differences in the nature of knowledge, and goals of inquiry, praxis that nurses realize through interpretative and critical paradigms always contribute to the improvement of the human conditions. Some of the latest challenges that the nurses have had is consideration of the emancipator possibilities that the clinical inquiry makes in interpretative and clinical paradigms. Theory is about thinking and practice is based on action. Therefore, it is imperative for nurses to realize the impact realizable from the mix of practice and theory. Theory offers exceptional opportunity of learning from practice and practice offers nurses the opportunity of learning from experience. The proponents of the framework if praxis also realizes the importance of the unitary appreciative inquiry in clinical nursing.
