Together we can change the world

June 24, 2012 15:18

Unity is something that cannot be under rated in the current world. In this world, pressure on the available resources is very high making the use greater than the creation. Each individual, in the struggle to enhance maximum utility for his or her stay on earth, does things that will leave the earth a better place to stay, not only for him, but also for generations to come. This is emphasized through awareness campaigns that aim to make people’s stay on earth sustainable. Such campaigns are the green belt movement, world-for-peace campaigns, and other environmental campaigns. To consolidate this struggle so that the effect is magnified and returns realized faster, there is the need to work in unity by joining forces so that by complementing each other and with reduced conflicts, we achieve the desired goals in the desired time frame.

Since the world was not made for one person, one person cannot inhabit it to full. This leads to the realization that nothing that we do on this earth can be independent of each other. Anything we do must have somewhere to lean for support, motivation, and any other criticism or complement. This statement reflects the fact that one person cannot make a bigger impact by himself without the support of colleagues, whether positive or negative.

For instance, on environmental conservation across the world, a single person cannot be able to plant trees, preserve them, take care of the animal species within our environment, protect the depletion of natural resources, prevent climate change, and ensure sustainable utilization of environmental resources all by himself. Incorporating collective responsibility in this process, however, changes everything to possibility. Different groups of people will specialize in doing that which they do better so that collectively we shall have beautifully planted trees, well-preserved animal species by the wildlife agencies, and sustainable use of natural resources e.t.c. in such case, individual brilliance will have been used perfectly to produce a final gross benefit to the world-environmental sustainability.

Poor governance is another thing that makes the world a divided region for human stay. Poor leadership has seen the embezzlement of public resources thus creating the poor governance. Addressing this problem is not an individual responsibility because it must start by all of us agreeing to a code of conduct that will enhance good directorship of our resources, both natural and artificial so that by that we shall also be subscribing to good governance. By joining hands, we are simply dis-allowing leadership that will drive us into poor governance by agreeing to a penalty to anyone going against our code.

Peace is another activity that creates a world that is attractive to live in. Human beings raising animosity over fellow human beings is what creates a society without peace. Since we, human beings cause the lack of peace through allowing ourselves to solve our differences by violence, we can decide to unite to enhance peace.  If we agree to subscribe to viewing each other as own blood, then we are simply dis-allowing the animosity that can come between us to do so. If we hold each other’s hand, if we say we shall not fight or cause violence towards each other, and we maintain to that, then we will be creating a better world to live in. A world full of peace and love and not hatred and war.

In case every individual saved a few foodstuff or finances and donated that to those unlucky in the society, what we shall be doing is sharing the ever-adequate resource of the world to the needy and poor. Based on the fact that a big population of the earth is unable to provide for themselves, uniting to help will have a great impact. This shall create a balance where every one is proud of living on the earth comfortably without struggle and hunger. This shall create a united people who live as each other’s keeper, hence creating a world that is a better place to live.

Based on the above explanations, a seeable change with returns is only achieved to either success or failure depending on our unity or disunity respectively. If we decide to unite to make the world a good place by collectively doing that which is good, then it so becomes and if we unite to make it bad, then the effects of a bad world undermines us.
